The Glassmill

The Glassmill encompasses the redevelopment of the corner site adjacent to Battersea Bridge. 80,000sqft of luxury residential riverfront duplexes are proposed as well as a 7,800sqft double-height, ground floor retail premises opening out on to the river frontage. The building is served by a single storey basement level of approximately 1000sqm, reserved for plant equipment, parking, cycle spaces and auxiliary space for refuge and storage. The scale and proportion of the proposed scheme provides a relevant language for a high-quality, luxury residential development.

The materiality of the scheme utilises a pallet of stone cladding, anodised gold and bronze screens and slimline glazed reveals to windows and doors. The balustrades consist of bronze verticals to set-off the natural colour of the stone. The combination of these materials set against the backdrop of the Thames would create a unique development of the highest quality and achieve premium resale value. Combining simple materials and articulating them in a tactile manner results in a building a unique presence that would imbue the riverfront location with charm and quality.
